Dr. Svetlana Toshniwal

Dr. Svetlana Toshniwal, DNB (Ophthalmology) is currently a practicing General Ophthalmologist with a special interest in Diagnostics / Imaging, Dry Eyes, Refractive and Cataract Surgery. She had successfully established and managed the Corporate Clinic under the brand of EYERIS Medical Center at Vile Parle (W), Mumbai, established in 2011 for 9+ years and now has her private practice at Churchgate, Mumbai. Dr. Svetlana has worked and achieved her DNB qualifications in Ophthalmology, under the renowned Ophthalmologist, Dr. S. Natarajan at Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, Mumbai. She has worked at BYL Nair Hospital, Mumbai for over a year and received Cataract Surgery training under the renowned surgeon Dr. Anil Kulkarni at Kulkarni Eye hospital, Miraj.

Dr. Svetlana had partnered with Dr. Deepak Garg, a trained Paediatric Ophthalmologist from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, to start the Eye Solutions clinic at Mazgaon, Mumbai and also practices at the Eye Solutions clinic at Kemps Corner, Mumbai. Dr. Toshniwal is a Technical Consultant to Toshbro Medicals Pvt. Ltd. a leading Ophthalmology Surgical & Diagnostic Equipment Distributor in India, where she trains and advises the team on technical matters related to their business.

Dr. Deepak Garg

Pediatric, Cataract and Squint Specialist

Apart from being an avid trekker and runner, Dr Deepak Garg is one of the best cataract specialist and best pediatric eye specialist in Mumbai. He established Eye Solutions in the year 2008. After finishing his MBBS from Bombay he went to Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, to do his ophthalmology training. Sankara Nethralaya is one of the largest eye hospitals not only in India but also Asia. Dr Deepak stayed on for a year more to do his pediatric ophthalmology specialization, which was something he developed interest in while studying ophthalmology. This was the time when he learnt about treating squints. Before moving to Bombay, he spent 6 months with world renowned pediatric ophthalmologists in Toronto, USA and London to learn more about squints and their treatments. Dr Deepak currently performs cataract surgeries and squint surgeries in individuals of all age groups. He has thus operated on patients from 3 months of age to 95 years of age from different parts of the world. Studying and working at Sankara Nethralaya influenced him greatly and he thus joined the ‘Rotary Club of Bombay Mid-Town’. This is a 50 year old, prestigious Rotary Club in South Mumbai and he was the club’s President for the year 18-19. Dr Deepak also additionally heads the cataract surgery project at this rotary club. Though this project, the club performs 200 free cataract surgeries at Eye Solutions and a few other hospitals every year. He is also a trustee at Shri Ganapati Netralaya which is one of the largest eye hospitals in Western India and is a not for profit eye care institute.

She is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Ophthalmology, McGill Journal of Medicine, Canada, the Asian Student Medical Journal, the Internet Health, peer reviewer for the Calicut Medical Journal. She has published over 23 articles in text book chapters and presented several papers at various conferences.
